Hello and Welcome! I am a BPS chartered and HCPC registered clinical psychologist working in private practice. I have current enhanced DBS clearance.
I am based in the centre of Chorley as well as offering on-line therapy via Zoom.
I work collaboratively with individuals, adults (18+) and older adults (65+), families and carers. I also work directly with individuals in nursing and care homes and with staff teams. Nursing home visits can be arranged if required, by prior agreement. I accept self-referrals as well as GP and Solicitor referrals and I am registered with a number of health insurance companies so can provide confidential written reports, should they be required. I am an honorary lecturer on the Manchester Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and offer teaching and training to organisations on a variety of topics.
What to expect from therapy... I offer an initial 20 minute telephone/video assessment to establish whether I would be a good therapeutic match for you and would be able to meet your therapy needs.
Prior to our first full (50 minutes) appointment I will send you a copy of my terms and conditions with a therapy contract and information about your data protection and your rights under GDPR. I would ask that you read and sign the relevant contracts and bring them with you to our first appointment or return them to me by email, so that therapy can begin. I also ask that payment for the initial appointment is made in advance by BACS, Bank Transfer. I do not accept cash payments and appointments will only be made when full payment for the session has been received. Cancellation made with 48hrs notice will not be charged. (See Terms and Conditions)
At our first full meeting, either on-line or in person, we will undertake an in-depth psychological assessment, so that we can develop a shared understanding of the problems or issues that you would like to address going forward in our work together. I can then offer you further advice, consultation, signposting to other services or ongoing therapy., which may be short or longer term (6 sessions-20 sessions+) the need for further sessions will be reviewed and agreed jointly at regular intervals. Each therapy session will last for 50 minutes and costs are offered on a sliding scale from £80 to £120. I also offer some reduced fee options, for which there is a waiting list. An exception to this would be EMDR therapy, which would last for 90 minutes per session and cost £125 per session. Appointments are usually held on a weekly basis to ensure continuity.
At present I continue offer clients online therapy due to the risks of COVID19 as well as face to face therapy in Chorley. Appointments are available from 10am to 7-00pm Monday to Friday or at week-ends (Saturday morning) 10-00am to 1pm.
